Wilderness Ethics
We are passionate about helping everyone have an opportunity to experience the beauty and serenity of the wilderness, while also teaching and ensuring good stewardship practices are upheld.
Wilderness Accessibility
The lands and waters of the Superior National Forest and the BWCAW (Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness) are public resources that should be open and accessible to everyone, regardless of your race, nationality, gender, age, disability, skill level, etc. We are excited to help bring wilderness experiences to anyone who might not otherwise feel comfortable, knowledgeable or capable on their own.
Wilderness Stewardship Responsibility
The Gunflint Trail is a magical place and the surrounding environment should be treated in an ethical and respectful manner. The past several years have witnessed an unfortunate rise in vandalism, littering, cutting of trees, a general lack of following the rules, etc. GWGS gives attention toward stewardship and building an appreciation of the wilderness. We are dedicated to safe and sustainable ways to enjoy the wilderness and embrace the Leave No Trace 7 principles.
