Guided Hiking
We provide two types of hiking adventures:
Trail hiking– We can take you on guided hikes over the numerous designated hiking routes along the Gunflint Trail and provide additional commentary along the way.
Back country hiking – For those looking for a bit more adventure, we also provide guided ‘back country’ hiking trips. These utilize forest service roads, ski and snowmobile trails, and previously scouted overland routes, but do not follow any official ‘hiking’ trail. The routes are selected to utilize natural overlooks, view unique rock formations, trek through interesting natural areas, and hopefully increase your chance of seeing wildlife.
Back country hiking is not for everyone, and it requires good physical conditioning, as it tends to be more strenuous. However, these adventures offer the chance to avoid crowds, see terrain rarely viewed by others, and truly enjoy the isolation of the wilderness. At times bushwhacking through thick cover is required.

A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking. GWGS cancellation policies apply (see our policy page).
The remaining balance will be collected at the end of the trip via mobile transaction – credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. An additional 4% will be added to cover transaction and Forest Service fees.
*An additional 1-2 hours can be added to half-day trips at a rate of $35/hour. This can be decided beforehand, or while the trip is underway. Availability is at the discretion of your guide and is not guaranteed.
Included: trekking poles or walking sticks, naturalist field guides, backpack cooler (with ice packs), bear bells, bear spray, compasses, whistles, First-aid kit, and Garmin Inreach satellite communication device.
Additional information:
- Clients are responsible for their own food and beverages. A back-pack cooler and ice-packs will be carried by your guide.
- No pick-up/drop-off services are available. Guests must provide their own transport to trailheads or landings.
- Additional BWCAW Regulations apply for any trips going into the BWCAW.
- Additional Ontario Regulations apply for any trips going across the Canadian border.
